School of Vocational Studies

The School of Vocational Studies aims at providing education and training for skill development and to meet the vocational as well as technical requirements for economic development of the country. Demand driven and value added courses/programmes are offered through the School, targeting the formal and informal sectors. The School offers and develops courses that encourage vertical mobility of Vocational Education and Training. Research is another priority area for identifying social and industrial needs.

The UGC has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of University education, leading to Three years Bachelor of Vocation (B.
